Building Access

Building Access

If entrance to your place of work is access restricted and accessible by an access card/key fob/keypad, there are some security precautions you should take in order to prevent unauthorised access.

  • When entering the building, ensure no one with unauthorised access follows you in
  • If people try to follow you in, or ask you to let them in, explain the security protocol that access must be authorised by reception or security. You can then either contact the authorising department or person on their behalf or give them a contact number if you have one
  • Do not let employees tailgate you into the building, even if you know them, they should use their own access card/key fob etc.
  • Ensure the door closes securely behind you after you have entered the building
  • Report any suspicious people using the appropriate channel – reception, security etc.
