Laptops, Desktop PCs and Mobile Phones

The following security principles should be followed with reference to your laptop, desktop PC, smartphone and tablet.

• All devices should be access controlled and password protected in line with organisational policy
• Keep screens locked when you are away from your desk
• Lock laptops away securely or take them with you when you leave your place of work
• Ensure no sensitive information is stored on your laptop / PC desktop
• Be aware of who is around you, and who might be able to see your screen
• When travelling, ensure your equipment is kept with you at all times where possible
• You should not download, stream and /or install software or other media onto your device, unless licensed, and formally approved
• Do not allow anyone else to use your company devices
